It’s rare to see a flash game that provides unique game play, nice graphics, and seamless execution all in one. Bloody Fun Day just happen to be one of them.

It has a very interesting take on puzzle gaming with an easy to understand but deep game rules. You can certainly see the originality in there and the effort the game designers have put in. I liked the way they implemented the special moves by making you store up the cuties in different colours. Adds plenty of strategy and playability into the game.

My personal best is at level 11 where it really gets tough with the long egg respawn rate. Let me know if you best me. =)

Screwed up

Fine, I have totally missed the aim of writing an article a day about Linux and security. The culprits were Mass Effect and Sins of a Solar Empire. Two new games that I have recently purchased and engrossed myself with.

Mass Effect is supposedly RPG. Think about a space based version of Tomb Raider that allows you to level up and obtain new equipments. Shooting your way through in third person instead of having those turn based combat in traditional RPGs is fun, at least in the beginning. After a while the repetition sets in with the limited number of weapons (four, to be exact) and the tedious kill-them-all objectives. It was fun while it lasted. I liked the way they emphasized on the voice acting. Almost every dialogue in Mass Effect was voiced. Hope to see this feature in games like Fallout 3. By the way the game was quite costly, set me back by SGD$65.90.

Sins of a Solar Empire is a RTS game, with elements from the 4X (eXpand, eXplore, eXploit, eXterminate) space genre strategy games. I only got it because it reminded me of Master of Orion, one of the classics and a favourite among 4X lovers. Sadly speaking, the mixture didn’t really suit my taste although many reviews rated the game highly for its innovative combination of RTS and 4X. Guess I was looking for the good old turn based space strategy game instead of an RTS. The game is remarkably cheaper ($50.90) and comes without any form of DRM.
